Lancaster Citizens of the Year 2010



Deputy Foss is the deputy of the year, I tried a variety of settings for his portrait, next a memorial, by the police car... At the end of the shoot I just didn't like them so I dropped down and framed him up in the sky. Many times the most simple shot is the best.


Firefighter Jeff was singled out as the firefighter of the year, he lead a group of local firefighters to Haiti where they helped pull many people out of the rubble.

Marco & Sandra founded The University of Antelope Valley. Their school has grown tremendously and includes a culinary program. Classes were ongoing so I decided to photograph them in the midst of a class.

Helen & Mike Engagement

Helen and Mike are getting married next weekend, they did not originally book an engagement but decided they needed some good new photographs of the two of them, so we did an engagement at the Griffith Observatory which is one of their and my favorite spots.

Women of Hope Project



I recently produced a promo video for Women of Hope, a non-profit group working with women and families in Afghanistan. I will be producing a longer piece that deals with more of the big picture of what W.O.H does. In the meantime I have taken one of the more notable stories from my interviews and edited it into a short piece. The photos are mostly royalty free courtesy of the Department of Defense with a few privided by Women of Hope. I shot all of this with a single fusion DSLR with available light in the home of a couple who works with W.O.H.

Jackie & Andrew



I spent a late afternoon last week shooting Jackie & Andrew's engagement pictures in Laguna Beach. I love Laguna Beach, the city beach has some great coves and rocks that I find interesting and fun for couples. Jackie and Andrew like the village so I photographed them in the village then went down to the beach briefly for the sunset. I prefer doing engagements in the early morning but the late afternoon right before sunset is also a great time.
